Visiting our church for the first time could be daunting for some so we would like to tell you what to expect. People from all walks of life attend our services. Some are curious about Christianity or The Free Church; some are on holiday or travelling for business. Some locals are adherents; others, members of the congregation. No matter who you are, or where you come from, you are welcome to worship with us.

Our Sunday morning service is at 11:00 and our evening service is at 6:30. When you arrive you will be met at the door by members of our Welcome Team. You can find us here

What happens?

Jesus is at the centre of everything that happens in The Free North. During the service He is the focus. Our service has singing, praying, reading the Bible and preaching. A Bible passage is expounded and applied to our lives. Upon arrival you will be given a Bible and Psalm book, should you need them. You will also be given a printed Notice sheet with page numbers for Bible passages and Psalms to be sung, as well as other relevant information. We stand to sing and sit to pray. Usually our service lasts about one hour.

What about children?

Babies and children are very welcome! We provide a morning crèche for pre-school children and babies from 10:45am and all volunteers are Statutory Disclosure Certified. There are play mats and many toys, but snacks should be provided by parents. Ask for directions from any Welcome Team member!

Our Sunday School caters for children aged 4 and above. They attend the morning service for the first 15 minutes, during which the Minister speaks specifically to them before they leave for their classes. The teaching and activities are Jesus and Bible centred.

After the Services

After both services we serve tea and coffee in the hall behind the auditorium and you are welcome to stay for a good brew, ask questions, find out more about us and tell us about yourself. No donation is expected and many members of the congregation delight in this fellowship with both adherents and visitors.

Mid week meeting

This service takes place in the hall behind the auditorium on Wednesdays at 7:30pm. It is similar to Sunday worship, but as Prayer is led by members of the congregation it is often referred to as “The Prayer Meeting”. The subject and detail of the sermon are appropriate for a Christian audience.

Youth Fellowship

The Youth Fellowship (YF) exists to engage with the younger members of our congregation. They gather together and enjoy chilling out and discussing what it means to be a Christian.
