Artefact unearthed during survey
An interesting historical artefact in the form of a very old glass bottle was found during a recent survey inspection of the area under the hall floor.
The bottle would appear to have been discarded by one of the original workmen when the church was built and once the floor was laid it would have remained hidden and forgotten ever since. Presumably he thought no one would ever know his secret?? The bottle was retrieved by the surveyor and left in the lower session room. Perhaps it could be displayed as it is a direct link to the past and would be an interesting talking point when the building is open to visitors over the summer months?
