It was heartening to see a large number of ladies at our first meeting, to learn about the work of the Gospel in Chad, a land-locked, Sub-Saharan country divided along ethnic and religious lines. Civil war, poor rainfall, distance from the sea and a subsistence economy have devastated the country. Our speaker, Joan Mackenzie, working with AIM, is a Healthcare Professional involved in Clinics, Midwifery, Hospitality and leading Healthcare Training Projects. Joan, along with Chadian Health Workers, train others to deliver a holistic approach to Health issues, especially targeting women and families within the community. We were granted fascinating insights into daily life in Chad. She encouraged us to pray for her continued good health and the launch of her new Training Programme. A sum of £206 was raised to support Joan’s work.
