You may have noticed that a new shop – Everything Baby – has recently opened at 108 Church Street. This is a charity which takes donations of quality pre-loved baby, toddler and maternity goods, baby equipment, toys and goods, sells them through the shop at affordable prices and uses the proceeds to provide help, support and services for Highland families. The shop provides a space for baby feeding and changing, or you can just pop in for a chat and a cup of tea.
The charity – sponsored by NHS Scotland, the Highland Council, Scottish Government, Climate Challenge Fund, and Awards for All Scotland – is looking for volunteers to help across all aspects of the project – ‘fabulous folk happy to serve customers, behind-the-scenes saviours getting to grips with stock donations and capable creatives making wonderful window displays’. They are also looking for a ‘Facebook fanatic’ to keep their social media presence up to date; people who can organise stock collections from outwith Inverness and poster people to help spread the word. If you want more information or are interested in getting involved with the local community by volunteering for any of the above aspects of the charity, there are leaflets and posters at both doors, which provide details.
